
John Bright
Director - ADNOC Operations & Business Development – Business DevelopmentJohn has over 35 years’ experience in the energy sector, joining the oil and gas industry in the 1980s based in London and Aberdeen, supplying and servicing wellheads and Xmas trees for National Supply now NOV. He has since undertaken a wide range of roles from sales and marketing through to operations, maintenance and commissioning, including service centre facility rollouts in the UAE.
By 1992, John had moved to the Middle East to develop service businesses within the manufacturing sector, seeking to build and grow both offerings and revenue for various manufacturers all supporting the energy, power, water and cement industries.
He has seen the changes in the various industries and the development of the Middle East, especially UAE over the 30+ years of being there, continuously adapting the offering with the industry changes. This continues today as we continue to ensure that the revenues and profits from Oil & Gas feed the cost to transition into renewables.
His current role with Proserv has seen him broaden his philosophy around creating service solutions and optimising brownfield assets, both onshore and offshore. John’s belief is that today’s service models are forged by collaboration and must reflect the future demands of the energy transition.
In Summary, John has decades of experience in the Industry and Middle East region and has witnessed events from price volatility to security threats to the infrastructure to the need to transition to greener energy for the future and is well placed to continue this journey ad offer insights to the Energy Industries Council. These insights and experience are crucial in assisting with the changes taking place over the coming 10-15 years.
John Bright is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a committee member for EIC Connect and is also now a Global Ambassador for Energy Industries.
