What You Need to Know
As a Service & Support Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technical service and support activities for customer metering control systems. The role includes both office-based technical support and travel to onshore and offshore customer sites for commissioning, upgrades, troubleshooting, system health checks, and technical issue resolution. You will also support testing activities, contribute to knowledge sharing, participate in an out-of-hours support rota, and ensure service activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
What We Are Looking For
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
Provide technical support to customers, advising on the resolution of issues relating to metering control systems.
Attend onshore and offshore customer sites to carry out commissioning, upgrade and troubleshooting activities.
Complete system health checks and provide recommendations on system status and performance.
Implement system changes and modifications to resolve technical issues and optimise system performance.
Support call handling and issue resolution, ensuring accurate recording and management of customer requests.
Set up and utilise test and simulation systems to assist with fault finding and technical investigations.
Support internal testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities to ensure successful project delivery.
Deliver service activities safely, efficiently and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
What You'll Bring
Experience working with flow measurement control systems and related computer-based technologies.
Hands-on experience installing and configuring SCADA software such as Ignition, PlantSCADA or eXLerate.
Strong IT skills, including experience with Windows operating systems and virtual environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with customers and colleagues at all levels.
The ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and see tasks through to successful completion.
A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering a high standard of customer service.
It Would Be Advantageous If You Have
An HND or degree qualification in an engineering discipline.
Previous experience in a similar Service & Support, Controls, Automation or Systems Engineering role.
Experience working with industrial networks and serial communications protocols such as Modbus.
Offshore certification including BOSIET and MIST.
Experience supporting commissioning, maintenance or troubleshooting activities within the energy industry.
Working Arrangements
This role is based in Cumbernauld.
Regular travel to customer sites is required, including both onshore and offshore locations.
Participation in an out-of-hours duty phone rota is required to support customer operations when needed.
The role offers a varied mix of office-based technical support and hands-on field service activities.
