What You Need to Know
The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and growing Proserv's aftermarket, service, brownfield modification, and product solution business across Saudi Arabia. The role serves as the technical-commercial interface between customers, engineering, operations, and project delivery teams, identifying opportunities, preparing technical and commercial proposals, maintaining customer relationships, and supporting revenue growth objectives.
The Sales Engineer will proactively engage with key customers including EPC contractors, operating companies, system integrators, and end users to promote Proserv's products, services, upgrades, and lifecycle support solutions. The role requires strong technical understanding of control systems, instrumentation, electrical systems, and oil & gas operations combined with commercial acumen and customer relationship management skills.
What We Are Looking For
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within assigned accounts and territories.
Develop strong relationships with customer stakeholders including engineering, operations, maintenance, procurement, and project teams.
Maintain regular customer visits and prepare visit reports with identified opportunities and actions.
Support achievement of annual sales targets, booking objectives, and growth plans.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer investment plans, and upcoming projects.
Develop account plans for strategic customers.
Manage opportunities throughout the sales lifecycle from identification through order award.
Maintain accurate opportunity records within CRM systems.
Lead bid/no-bid evaluations and opportunity qualification processes.
Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to develop winning technical and commercial solutions.
Ensure timely submission of quotations and proposals.
Review customer RFQs, tenders, and technical specifications.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals in accordance with company procedures.
Coordinate cost estimation, pricing, and risk assessment activities.
Clarify technical requirements with customers and internal stakeholders.
Participate in commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
Promote Proserv's products, services, and technical capabilities.
Provide first-line technical support during customer engagements.
Liaise with engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
Support product presentations, technical workshops, and customer demonstrations.
Assist in developing technical sales collateral and case studies.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
Act as a focal point for customer inquiries and concerns.
Support resolution of commercial and operational issues.
Maintain regular engagement with existing and prospective customers.
Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Projects, Service Delivery, and Finance teams.
Support project handover from sales to execution teams.
Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of sales opportunities.
Participate in sales reviews, strategy meetings, and business planning activities.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Mechanical, or related discipline).
Preferred
MBA or commercial qualification.
Optional:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of CRM systems and sales management tools.
Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards and specifications.
Understanding of control systems, instrumentation or electrical systems.
Experience
3–7 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, proposal engineering, or business development within the oil & gas, energy, industrial automation, or process industries.
Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals.
Experience in managing customer relationships and sales opportunities.
Exposure to EPC contractors, operating companies, or industrial end users.
Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Travel Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support customer meetings, site visits, project discussions, and business development activities.
Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary permits, certifications, and medical clearances required for customer site access.
Valid driving license and ability to travel independently to customer locations.
