What You Need to Know
We are seeking a proactive and organised Stores Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our stores function. Responsible for leading a small team, you will ensure the efficient receipt, storage, control, and dispatch of materials and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting operational requirements. The role requires strong leadership, stock control, and logistics coordination skills, with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, and delivering a high standard of service to both internal and external stakeholders. Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or Oil & Gas environment would be advantageous.
What We Are Looking For
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the stores function, ensuring efficient stock control and inventory management.
Lead, support, and develop the Stores team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
Coordinate the receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of materials and equipment to meet operational requirements.
Maintain accurate inventory records and material movements using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
Plan and conduct regular stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with audit requirements.
Coordinate offshore project loadouts, backloads, and logistics activities, including customer-owned and company-owned equipment.
Ensure all delivery, shipping, and dispatch documentation is accurately prepared and processed.
Manage stores consumables and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including the application of 6S principles within the stores environment.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Essential
Valid Forklift Licence.
Previous experience working within a stores, warehouse, or stock management environment.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrable experience in stock control, inventory management, and materials handling.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred
Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe handling of hazardous substances.
Experience working with Dangerous Goods, including storage, handling, and transportation requirements, especially by sea.
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or a similar ERP/inventory management system.
Previous experience within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or related industrial sectors.
