What You Need to Know
We're looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our Service team based at our facility in Great Yarmouth, supporting the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing and commissioning of subsea and topside control systems. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, international travel and hands-on technical work in challenging offshore and onshore environments.
Working alongside our Service Project Engineers, Test & Commissioning Engineers and Technical Service Engineers, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality service solutions for customers worldwide. When you're not mobilised offshore, you'll support workshop activities including equipment refurbishment, testing, maintenance and preparation for deployment.

What We Are Looking For
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
Service Delivery
Execute installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and support activities for subsea and topside control systems in accordance with approved procedures, work scopes, and safety requirements.
Travel to global locations to support client installation, maintenance, integrity testing, commissioning support, and aftermarket service activities as required.
Independently lead installation and planned maintenance routine (PMR) activities where competent and authorised to do so.
Perform integrity testing activities including tubing pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, and associated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical work scope execution.
Support commissioning, system integration testing, and troubleshooting activities under the direction of a Test & Commissioning Engineer where additional technical expertise is required.
Identify and communicate technical issues, risks, or deviations encountered during execution and support the implementation of effective solutions.
Workshop & Equipment Support
Support workshop-based service activities including equipment inspection, refurbishment, testing, maintenance, and preparation for mobilisation.
Carry out inspection, testing, and repair of customer-owned equipment and provide accurate inspection reports and supporting test records.
Assist with the preparation, maintenance, calibration, and control of service tooling, test equipment, and associated assets.
Support service projects and operational activities within the workshop when not assigned to field-based activities.
Undertake assigned in-house service activities, equipment surveys, inventory verification, and other service support tasks as required by business demand.
Client & Technical Support
Represent Proserv professionally at client locations and maintain positive working relationships through safe execution, technical competence, and high-quality service delivery.
Liaise effectively with Service Project Engineers, Technical Service Engineers, Test & Commissioning Engineers, Engineering, Operations and client representatives to ensure successful delivery of service activities.
Maintain effective communication regarding work progress, technical challenges, and resource requirements.
Support colleagues and contribute positively to team objectives through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional conduct.
Documentation & Reporting
Produce accurate, professional, and timely site reports, inspection reports, test procedures, and other service documentation.
Ensure all technical records accurately reflect activities undertaken, test results obtained, and observations made during execution.
Accurately capture and communicate as-built changes, ensuring drawings and technical documentation are marked up and returned to the appropriate engineering or project personnel for update.
Submit timesheets and expense claims in accordance with company procedures and reporting deadlines.
Participate in pre-mobilisation briefings, post-job debriefs, and lessons learned activities.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes, procedures, and service delivery practices.
Capture lessons learned and provide feedback to support improvements in safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
Maintain technical competence through completion of required training, competency assessments, and development activities.

Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Essential
City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline.
Experience within the oil & gas, offshore energy or industrial services sector.
Hands-on experience installing, maintaining or servicing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical or instrumentation systems.
Experience supporting offshore installation, maintenance or integrity testing activities.
Knowledge of subsea production control systems, topside control systems, hydraulic power units or similar equipment.
Experience carrying out tubing installation, pressure testing, flushing or leak testing.
Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical drawings and technical documentation.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and report-writing ability.
Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Flexible approach to international travel and short-notice mobilisation.
Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
Full driving licence and valid passport.
Desirable
Small Bore Tubing Certification (SBT01/02/03).
Offshore survival and medical certification.
Experience working in hazardous area environments.
Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
Experience supporting commissioning and system integration.
Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic reporting tools.
