What You Need to Know
Our Engineering Department specialises in the design and development of advanced industrial control systems, supporting critical operations across the oil & gas, telemetry, and renewable energy sectors. From concept through to delivery, our teams work on innovative, high-integrity solutions that operate in some of the world’s most demanding environments.
We are now looking for a CAD Designer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with both Engineering and Proposals teams, supporting the design and development of a diverse range of products using SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD LT (2D).
As part of a small, highly collaborative CAD team, you will be responsible for delivering project-based work including detailed designs, calculations, drawings, and supporting engineering documentation. This is a varied role that offers exposure to the full product lifecycle, with opportunities to develop your technical capabilities through hands-on experience, team support, and self-driven learning.
This position is based at our Great Yarmouth facility, home to our Subsea Centre of Excellence.
What We Are Looking For
Proactively support your own learning, development, and contribution to the team
Develop a strong understanding of company products, projects, and engineering processes
Work closely with engineers and proposal teams to produce detailed general arrangement drawings, assembly and fabrication drawings & hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
Carry out structural and lifting integrity calculations for new and existing products using SolidWorks FEA and other simulation tools
Design solutions with a focus on cost-efficiency while ensuring compliance with company, industry, and safety standards
Deliver assigned work scopes on time and to a high standard
Contribute to and maintain standard parts libraries and drawing templates
Liaise with suppliers to support efficient and practical manufacturing methods for fabricated and machined components
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Essential:
Mechanical Engineering qualification
Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage workload and work independently
A proactive, self-motivated approach to learning and development
Preferred:
HND in Mechanical Engineering
Proven experience in a Mechanical CAD role
AutoCAD (or similar 2D CAD) experience
FEA / simulation experience
Background in oil & gas or related industries
