What You Need to Know
As the Business Development Manager for ECG™, you will take a leading role in introducing, promoting, and expanding ECG™ in the global offshore wind market. You’ll develop and manage strategic relationships with EPCI contractors, OEMs, and key industry stakeholders, identifying opportunities to embed ECG™ into major offshore wind developments.
You’ll be expected to travel internationally, work cross-functionally, and shape commercial, marketing, and product development strategy based on direct customer insights.
This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who combines deep industry understanding with commercial energy, strategic thinking, and the creativity to challenge norms.
We’re flexible on where you’re based in the UK—as long as you're happy to travel regularly to meet customers and visit our Proserv sites.
What We Are Looking For
As Business Development Manager (Renewables), you will be responsible for leading sales strategy, market expansion, and customer engagement globally. This high-impact role reports into the VP, ECG and works cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver world-class solutions to a growing customer base.
You'll be the commercial voice of the ECG™ business unit—guiding global opportunity development, building high-value relationships, and ensuring alignment with our long-term strategy.
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
Drive Global Growth: Lead the commercialisation of ECG™ in new and existing markets; raise awareness and position ECG™ as a must-have solution for offshore wind developers and contractors.
Customer Engagement: Build and nurture long-term relationships with development, procurement, engineering, and operations teams at major EPCI firms and cable OEMs.
Strategic Sales Execution: Identify key stakeholders, manage the sales funnel, and convert high-value opportunities into signed contracts and framework agreements.
Commercial Insight & Support: Collaborate with the commercial team to support tenders, define competitive pricing strategies, and navigate contract negotiations.
Market Intelligence: Gather and report intelligence on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to shape Proserv’s go-to-market strategy and inform product development.
Technical Communication: Confidently present complex technical solutions in a clear, compelling, and commercially relevant way to a variety of audiences.
Brand Representation: Represent Proserv at international exhibitions, conferences, industry events, and client meetings to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
Sales Reporting: Maintain CRM records and sales dashboards, contributing to pipeline forecasting, performance tracking, and internal business reviews
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Proven B2B experience in a technical or engineering-led sector, ideally within offshore wind, renewables, or subsea technology.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial agreements, manage bid cycles, and establish partnerships or framework contracts.
Strong communication skills—able to articulate complex technologies in simple, value-focused language.
Track record of delivering strategic sales growth and creating lasting client relationships.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to influence, engage, and collaborate at all levels internally and externally.
Self-starter with a challenger mindset, capable of working independently while aligning with wider business objectives.
Preferred
Experience with subsea cable systems, asset integrity, or distributed sensing technologies.
A mature network of contacts within the offshore wind sector—especially across the UK and Europe.
Previous involvement in innovative technology adoption or disruptive solution introduction.
