What you need to know
This role requires the job holder to develop sales opportunities, maintain client relationships, and manage regional representative accounts to support growth in the Proserv Controls organisation in South East Asia, with a focus to promote all Proserv Controls business units, with primary focus points allocated based on skillset and expertise.
The job holder is responsible for developing leads and managing opportunities throughout the tender process while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand market demands and drive a successful sales strategy. The individual must ensure clear and accurate visibility of sales opportunities within Projects, Aftermarket and Trading offerings, committing to the business's high-probability awards.
Play a key role in driving the regional strategy and direction of the business, working closely with the Sales & Strategic Accounts Director (FEA & Australia) and key stakeholders throughout the global Sales and Commercial functions.
Regular regional travel is a requirement of the role.
Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)
- Identify new opportunities for the whole Proserv Controls business, with a likely primary focus within the Topside & Subsea Controls business units, for both products & services.
- Pursuit of strategic opportunities.
- Efficient management of live opportunities on CRM, reporting accurately for Sales & Operational Planning.
- Cultivation of partnerships and/or commercial relationships.
- Leverage of existing client relationships with a view to further growth.
- Key Account Plan ownership; identify and manage key customers.
- Identify new product opportunities in line with the regional market demands.
- Influence a Sales strategy for live opportunities, working closely with the commercial team as opportunities progress, leading Risk Review Boards (as required).
- Capture historical wins and losses to understand regional market pricing.
- Understanding Customer drivers such as delivery/technology/PM when setting our price v market benchmark.
- Coordinate with our other Sales and Commercial colleagues to ensure a joined up approach, driving opportunity sales strategies for success.
Key Performance Indicators
- Meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Develop and grow the Customer base.
- Take ownership of parts of the regional strategy which includes considerations such as key/new customers, geographical locations and input into Proserv’s Technology Roadmap; driven by what the regional demands are in the short & long-term future.
- As required, supporting the whole Proserv group in region (Far East Asia), across all business units to assist in their sales targets being achieved.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Education
Essential
- Should have completed tertiary education in a technical subject.
Preferred
- Ideally should possess Higher National Diploma in Engineering or a similar Hydraulic relevant technical subject.
Experience
Essential
- Strong technical background, ideally with experience in Topside or Subsea Controls products (Hydraulic & Electrical) and services.
- Business Development, Engineering or Commercial experience.
- Knowledge of competitive tenders/bidding processes
- Good commercial awareness.
- Account Management.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to generate and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems.
- Ability to travel across the region as required.
- Flexible with working hours as working out with normal hours of business will be required occasionally.
- Keyboard/computer skills with ability to use all Microsoft products.
