Application Engineer
Role Synopsis
The Application (PLC) Engineer will be responsible for fully supporting all techno commercial interfaces with our client base and agents. This will include proposal work and the execution of project (factory/office) and service (field) engineering activities for the full Proserv portfolio.
Mainly work with Proserv GY and Sommermeyer team, providing complete solution on application system side. Work with global team on their project and enhance the product knowledge in Proserv Chennai, Also support middle east entity on their automation project including field services.
Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)
- Participate in the development & implementation of automation strategies for upgrade, expansion, continuous improvement, life cycle, and preventive maintenance of automation infrastructure for the relevant sites.
- Generate all automation engineering project documentation and delivery to principal engineer on time and ensure construction as built as designed.
- Maintain project schedule, implementation, compliance to design and commissioning.
- Generate project tracking and reporting as defined by project team.
- Design automation PLC programs within guidelines of automation standards
- Understand Oil and Gas facilities process and design control systems in accordance to Industry standards.
- Communicating with external and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Ensure all data is accurate and complete for all visual representation of automation projects
- Assist field personnel in identifying and resolving Process Control, Control Network, and Instrumentation problems.
- Assist in evaluation of new Oil and Gas production/automation technologies.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing to Instrument techs and other automation support personnel.
- Support the Sales team when required
- Participate as team member on automation projects to provide guidance and insight.
- Makes recommendations on improvements, best practices, maintenance and standardization of PLC and Operator interface systems.
- PLC/HMI/RTU/SCADA Systems Programming
- Follow QMS procedure and Proserv values all time
- Ensure project reports and weekly reports are prepared and performed consistently.

Qualifications
Education
Essential
- Working experience in PLC, RTU, Automated Control systems etc.
- Working experience in associated solar power packages.
- Knowledge in different types of communication protocols.
Preferred
- Working experience in PLC based pump controls will be an advantage.
- Exposure/experience in hydraulic control systems will be an advantage.
- Experience in Alan Bradley PLC & programming will be an advantage.
Experience
Essential
- Engineering Degree in Electronics & Communications, Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation & Controls etc.
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in PLC – Programming, Installations, commissioning, troubleshooting etc.
- Able to work independently (Without supervision).
- Able to travel around the countries for field assignments (Field could be in Oil & Gas on-shores/offshores locations
