What You Need to Know
The Geography FP&A Analyst will play a key role in overseeing and managing the financial performance of facilities within the organization. This position involves budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting for the facility operations, ensuring that all financial processes align with corporate goals and objectives. The FP&A Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency, cost control, and strategic planning for the facility's financial operations.
What We Are Looking For
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
- Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Provide insights into cost trends, variances, and key drivers for facility expenses (e.g., labor, materials, overhead, and capital expenditures).
- Develop and manage cost-related budgets and forecasts, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring the facility remains on track to meet financial targets. Drive timely updates to cost assumptions and projections as business conditions evolve
- Ensure facility absorption rates are aligned with globally defined methodologies
- Analyze cost structures and identify areas for improvement in efficiency. Work with department leaders & global peers to identify best practices and implement and monitor cost-saving initiatives and ensure effective cost control across all departments.
- Perform detailed variance analysis between actual and budgeted/forecasted costs. Provide detailed explanations and recommendations to management on how to address cost overruns or optimize spending.
- Maintain financial models to support cost analysis, scenario planning, and decision-making. Use these models to evaluate potential investments, process changes, and cost-cutting initiatives.
- Where applicable, work closely with Project Management teams ensuring that BU project financials are correctly stated, POC accounting accuracy and any under/over budget adjustments are booked timely, and project forecasts are accurately captured
- Work closely with facility function teams to gather cost-related data, understand operational challenges, and drive cost-efficient solutions.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost management and provide actionable insights for improvement. Monitor and report on key cost metrics at both the facility and departmental levels.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and auditing standards. Assist in conducting regular cost audits and implement processes for maintaining accurate and consistent cost accounting.
- Provide management with recommendations to improve the cost structure and enhance profitability, working with leadership on long-term financial planning.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial and operational processes that enhance cost efficiency and productivity within the facilities. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in cost management and financial analysis.
- Facility capex Business Case Support & Approval
- Create environment for structure challenge across all core functions in relation to business area of responsibility.
- Month End Support & Reporting
- Act as a business partner to site leadership and play an instrumental role in facility culture and promoting FRESH behaviours.
- Be proactive in supporting global function leads.
- Work with the ERP team to ensure all business users have a sufficient level of operating knowledge in the system to include identifying and assisting with training and development needs.
- Deliver and participate in ad-hoc meetings and analysis requests, as required.
- Provide support in any aspects of expansion into new markets as required
- Work with the Finance team and take overall accountability and ownership over cost accounting processes and mapping.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (or time served in a suitable role)
- Familiar with MS Package systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to knowledge share (transmit and receive lessons learned) with other colleagues.
- Effective team building skills.
- Effective decision maker with demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Flexible approach requiring the ability to communicate with and support international operations across multiple time zones and a variety of cultures.]
