What You Need to Know
The Engineering Department is engaged in the design of Industrial Control Systems predominately for the oil & gas sector at present and the renewable energy sector in the near future.
Upon joining the Engineering Department, the successful applicant will have exposure to the key aspects of the products and services the team design and support.
The successful applicant will work with colleagues to design and implement control systems comprising electrical, electronic, SCADA/HMI, PLC/RTU, and documentation elements, among others.
The successful applicant will also work with other departments to assist in delivering the materials, manufacture, test, and commissioning of systems as required, as well as interfacing with customers to ensure their requirements are met.

• Generate documentation to allow design, implementation, test, install, operation and maintenance of industrial control systems.
• Ensure the project plans are executed in accordance with the quality objectives
• Ensure quality records are maintained and generated on time
• Support testing of metering systems (both in-house testing and client factory acceptance testing)
• Provide on-site support during project installation and commissioning (willing to travel to and work at client locations for short periods, as required)
• Work with the Senior Engineers and the Management Team to ensure successful operations delivery
• Assist the Support Department with the resolution of escalated customer site issues
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Essential
• Educated to HND/degree level in engineering discipline, or equivalent engineering work experience
• At least two years’ experience in similar role
• Familiarity with full project lifecycle from Design stage through to Commissioning
• Technical Documentation production with high level of proficiency in MS Office packages
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS general admin activities (user accounts, basic network settings, firewall configuration etc.)
• Proficiency in at least one SCADA package (CitectSCADA / PlantSCADA / Ignition)
• Proficiency in at least one PLC (Siemens S7 / Allen Bradley / Opto 22 Groov EPIC)
• Experience of formal testing (internal / FAT / SAT)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work unsupervised & prioritise workload
• Ability to self-motivate and motivate others to achieve a common objective
• Ability to work within time & cost constraints
• Ability to self-teach from various sources
• High level of self-discipline and pride to be reflected in quality of work
Preferred
• Experience in Oil & Gas flow measurement control systems
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas flow measurement calculation standard (ISO / AGA / API)
• Proficiency in at least one flow computer (Emerson S600+ / ABB Flow-X)
• Industry standard communication protocols (Modbus / OPC)
• Serial comms setup & troubleshooting (RS232 / RS422 / RS485)
• At least one programming language (C++ / C# / VBA / Python)
• At least one relational database (MS SQL Server / MySQL)
• Use of Configuration Management Systems
• Knowledge and experience of Industrial Cybersecurity
• Ability to read and understand the content of electrical schematic / wiring diagrams
• Experience of site commissioning and/or fault-finding activities
• In date offshore certifications (BOSIET / MIST)
