What You Need to Know
The Shipping / Receiving Clerk is responsible for domestic and international shipping, receiving and tracking of items and products.
What We Are Looking For
- Arrange and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for both domestic and international freight movements.
- Package/ship items; attach identifying information and shipping instructions on packages for proper shipment.
- Receive items and packages. Verify received items versus bills of lading, invoices, orders, and/or other informational records to ensure accuracy.
- Record and report damaged items and/or shortages. Communicate information to proper personnel to rectify damages or shortages.
- Maintain product inventory accuracy and recordkeeping in company computer software systems. Schedule and perform cycle counts and enter updates in the system as necessary.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies; order additional supplies as needed.
- Follow-up with suppliers for missing documentation and delivery discrepancies.
- Operate forklift or pallet mover to transfer items as needed.
- Maintain an orderly work area; ensure work area is clean, organized and meets company safety standards.
- Perform other work-related tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Education
Essential
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Essential
- One (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of personal computers.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Outlook.
- Profiscient knowledge of English language; read, write and speak.
- Basic math skills.
- Able to identify and solve problems, manage multiple priorities and multi-task.
- Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
