What You Need to Know
Our Manufacturing team, based at our facility on Beacon Park, Great Yarmouth are looking for an experienced Electronics Assembly Technician to join them.
You will be able to undertake assembly of Subsea Electronic Modules (SEMs) in accordance with approved procedures and drawings. Also maintaining relevant assembly documentation, undertake equipment configuration/fault finding and, where necessary, collaborate with engineers to resolve issues relating to assembly.
This is a full time position, working 37.5hrs per week.
What We Are Looking For
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
- Work with the Team Leader to ensure assembly activities are undertaken in a professional and safe manner.
- Work in accordance to IPC-620 Class 3.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure that completed records are passed in a timely manner to the Quality Department.
- Provide feedback to Engineering relating to assembly procedures & processes.
- Ensure that equipment used for assembly is safe and covered by current valid certification where required.
- Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by team leader within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Education
Essential
- GCSE minimum grade 4 (C) in the following subjects: English & Mathematics.
- BTEC National Certificate or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Preferred
- HNC, NVQ (or equivalent) qualified in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Electronics.
- Level 3 apprenticeship in Engineering.
- IPC/WHMA-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Proven track record of electrical/electronics assembly and fault finding.
- Maintaining precise documentation and records.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Read and interpret assembly procedures and schematic diagrams.
Preferred – but not essential.
- Working knowledge of controls/communications software (Modbus).
- Understanding of electronics boards and components.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
